What are Reiki and Quigong?
Reiki (Ray-Key) is a form of spiritual practice used as a therapy for the treatment of physical, emotional, and mental diseases. In Japanese Reiki translates as “mysterious atmosphere; spiritual power”It is a hands-on healing art that uses the body’s own energy to aid in the healing process.” Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese Monk and Educator (1865 – 1926) a Japanese Christian educator, rediscovered this healing method in his study of ancient Tibetan texts. Reiki provides deep relaxation, relieves pain, and facilitates healing. In Reiki energy is transformed through your hands; when a person is being treated with Reiki they may feel gentle warmth or tingling in an affected area. Though Reiki emerges from Japanese religious traditions its is compatible with other faiths – it is spiritual practice more than a theology.
Qigong is a term used to describe various Chinese systems of physical and mental training and healing. The word “qi” refers to “breathing.” The word “Gong” is achievement or results. The two words describe systems and methods of “energy cultivation” within living organisms. There are many forms of qigong originating from different segments within Chinese society. The traditional Chinese Medical community uses qigong for preventive and curative functions. The religious community including both Taoist and Buddhist traditions uses qigong as part of their meditative practice.
“The secret art of inviting happiness. The miraculous medicine for all diseases. At least for today, do not be angry. Do not worry. Work with diligence.Be kind to people. Be honest. Every morning and evening, join your hands in meditation and pray with your heart. State in your mind and chant with your mouth. For improvement of mind and body.”

Testimonials
“Andrew has a rare combination of talents: equal parts healer, confidant, and humorist. Having been through many sessions with a variety of homeopathic healers, it’s refreshing to work with someone who is both serious about his practice, and somehow the antithesis of new-age.”
-Sarah Van Buren
“I have worked with Andrew since February, 2009. Andrew has helped me alleviate migraine headaches and back pain. Every time he has done work on me, I have felt better within a few minutes.”
